My parents want to repaint the living room and hallway in the house and asked me to help them with colours. They know I'm arty and all that so it seemed like a good idea.

The only problem was they couldn't give me a good description of what they wanted, although they could tell me what colours they did not want. So once red, yellow, blue, green, orange, purple, beige and especially magnolia were out of the running things became a little tricky.

We've since worked out that they want a brown carpet, with pale yellow walls in the hall and brown in the living room. I think that most of the colours we've looked at count as beige, but whatever. They work nicely together so I can live with that. Now we're planning on blue accents for the living room so it won't turn muddy looking. I think it will work, but only time will tell.

Updates and Randomness

Shot, I meant to fill this out more regularly than this!

The good news is that I finished the pink leg warmers and they are lovely and gorgeous, and unphotographed. Okay, so that last part isn't so good. I should probably post some writing to prove that I do do creative things, but I don't want to.

Anyway, I do have a new craft project in the works. It's a large sculpted statue project that I've been working on for ages. It will end up being a three-dimensional version of a phoenix character I created who looks more like a gryphon. Fun! I'll have to post the art I did of her here at some point.

To show that I'm not completely hopeless I will post a picture of Chaucer, a plushie gryphon I made last summer. Since then I've decided that I'm going to make a bit of an ongoing project of taking him to various places to be photographed. Yes, I am quite easily amused. Here's Chaucer in front of the Saatchi Gallery!

Pink fuzzy legwarmers

I recently had inspiration strike me, as inspiration so often does. I found about three metres of bright green ribbon and all I can think about now is how funky it would look on legwarmers made out of long pile magenta pink plush. Since my white fuzzy legwarmers look a bit battered I could use a new set. Pink wouldn't show up the dirt so badly either.

Of course this raises the issue of where to find long pile magenta fur. Synthetic, natch. I think I need a trip to Soho for the fabric shops there. Online would probably be easier, but it takes so long! I want my leg warmers now, damnit!

At least I have time for this sort of thing now November is over. I love NaNoWriMo, but it does eat into my time.

And yes my blog is going to be like this.
